Check out the 235 donated collages that you could purchase next week on Virginia Spiegel’s site! There are 21 pages of gorgeous collages to choose from. You can read about the 4 collages I donated here.

Collage Mania II opens Monday, May 5 at 9 a.m. (collages for a donation of at least $80) and continues May 6 (collages for a donation of at least $40). Thanks to the generosity of the donating artists, 100% of the proceeds are donated directly to the American Cancer Society through Fiberart For A Cause.

There are so many collages that I am drooling over, but I’ll just blog about one I keep returning to. It’s just so colorful and bright! Check out Gerrie Congdon’s Kimono Collage. You have to scroll down to find it, as Virginia wants everyone to peruse as much art as possible and donate $$ for some collages! Happy collaging.

Virginia Spiegel is doing an awesome fundraiser for Fiber Arts for a Cause (FFAC) to support the American Cancer Society (ACS) called Collage Mania II. If you don’t know of her work, please check out her website and blog. This post includes images of my four collages that have been accepted for the fundraiser. You’ll have a chance to purchase them May 5-6, 2008. Only $80 min. donation per collage on May 5th “Gold Donor Day” or $40 min. donation per collage on May 6th. Don’t worry, I’ll remind you! If you are an artist, then by all means, I encourage you to make one. I meant to make one, and then I made two. And then, I had two lonely pieces of 8″ x 10″ mat board just sitting there staring at me. Seriously, every time I passed them, they stared at me. Yes, I am neurotic, and ended up submitting four collages. :) Hopefully, they will bring in at least $160 for the ACS.

I really like to work small!  All of these collages are spin offs of ideas explored in previous weekly art experiments.
